it came to us that many players of our community do not know what IP sharing is, or how they need to register it. Therefore Mikaro has made this little guide for you.
- IP or Internet Protocol is an address given to you by your internet provider. Each household has a personal IP, so all computers in that household will have the same IP.
~ When will your IP change? ~
- Your IP will change if you play NosTale at another household or place (e.g. Internet café, divorced parents, sleepovers, vacation, etc.)
- Whenever you play at a public place (e.g. Internet café, school, dorm room, etc.), because there can be other players on that same IP whom might do bad things.
- Whenever you go play at some other house, (e.g. Vacation house, friend's place, etc.) same reason as above.
- If you use an IP stick, same reason as above.
- If friends/family play at your house, if they do something bad, you will be involved.
~ What happens if you don't register your IP sharing? ~
- You might get banned, even if you are innocent.
- Go to our support system: Click
- Open a new ticket with following subject: IP sharing
- Please provide us 1 character name of each account on the IP you are playing from.
- This includes 1 character name from alternative accounts that you might use to store/sell items.
- Also includes 1 character name from every player at your IP. (1 per account.)
- Also provide us why you are sharing IP. (e.g. Playing at an internet café, siblings playing the same game, real life couple, etc.)
- Eventually if it is temporary, include the date. (e.g. Sleepover party 5th of August - 7th of August)
~ Warning! ~
- [color=#990000]IP sharing is NOT the same as account sharing. Account sharing is forbidden and will be punished with exclusion of the game.
This is a brief overview of what IP sharing is. I hope you will understand this better now. Of course it would be great if players on the forums could spread the news in game so everyone can inform him/her-self, since not everyone reads the boards. If you have questions feel free to poke us on IRC (#nostale.uk) and ask them.Okay I wanted to ask on this matter. Anyone can help me out ?
The guide here says 'IP sharing is NOT the same as account sharing. Account sharing is forbidden and will be punished with exclusion of the game.'
Now I don't know how to explain this. Account sharing means you have shared your account with someone else right ?
For example :-
Firstly in my case I have a brother whom I play this game with. But since we have one pc and one Internet [So the Ip will be the same duh!], we play together. But my account is linked with steam and he plays on the client downloaded from Nostale site. So do I need to register an Ip-sharing ticket ?- Navigation
